 About Me |
As a graduate of System Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Sylvia is passionate about technology and enjoys being active in the community. Volunteer opportunities have taken her from design work for Engineers Without Borders to teaching English in Thailand. In 2004 she joined Wired Woman as volunteer services lead to encourage others with these same interests to become more involved in the technology industry.
Sylvia was one of the first female co-chairs of the Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference (CUTC), the largest student run technology conference in the country. She serves on the board of directors of L'Arche Daybreak, and also has a background in a variety of technology fields, from Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) research to industrial engineering and software program management and consulting. She is currently engaged in IT projects developing business intelligence solutions for the telecom and tourism sectors.
