I've wanted to buy a Breckenridge house since ~4 yrs ago in NYC but simply couldn't understand the local relationship between the current Breckenridge homes for sale price, average income, & historic Breckenridge house price. It was like they tripled since '98 but incomes didn't triple, this in a mature breckenridge real estate neighborhoods. Maybe I could've got some breckenridge real estate listings loan anyway that I could have afforded, but didn't because I knew I couldn't perpetually afford it (and I'm responsible). So I continued renting...figuring sooner or later those Breckenridge homes would fall to normal, and the banks would be forced to take back the home that they underwrote which is now worth less than their loan. They'd sell it for what they could get, and I'd have a home. The Breckenridge colorado real estate homeowner whom had no real equity shouldn't known better, and likely did; that's not my problem. But this new policy IS my problem, and rewards all of those people who knew better and took on something they couldn't afford.
