About Me   About Me
Well, it seems I was born in a windy and snowy night back in 1987, in the beautiful city named Verona...but please don't ask me anything about it 'cause I've moved to Milan when I was barely 1 y/o! Anyway, I guess I don't actually have to start from the beginning of the story...it may be much more boring than you can even expect it to be ;)! So, I'm Giulia, and this is probably the main info you need to know by now... I'm 20 years old, but most of the time I don't exactly feel that way...I'm somehow too childish :)! And I've always been interested in international issues... but I had never realized how many youngsters all around the world are interested in this subject until I took part in the International Meeting about Youth Policies held in Urbino some months ago... there was someone from TIG too and that's why I'm now trying to become a member of the site ;)! so, about me... I've got loads of interests... but there's no need to bother you with them all... I'm just going to tell you some basics...I really adore music...and then sports, drawing, reading, skating, playing the sax/calrinet/guitar, hanging out with my friends, having a walk in the park, writing, going to the cinema, nature, photography, foreign cultures, sitting on the bench ("watching the wheels go round and round" as John Lennon said)...and so on! As I told you, I like too many things to list them all here, in these few lines!
Some mroe info, since this is meant to be my short bio: I live in Tortona, a sort of unknown town in the middle of nowhere...not too far from both Milan and Genoa...I'm attending University in Pavia and am looking forward to begin my second year of studies (intercultural and multimedia communication...kinda interesting by now!)... I work with my town hall (youth council) and do loads of interesting stuff with it (european exchanges, cultural shows, meetings, music contests, art shows and so on...), I sometime write on the local newspaper or on a sort of sporty magazine...and I even work as a baby.sitter once in a while, when I get the chance (but mainly with my cousins...), and as a "painter" (well, I've just painted the walls of a shop by now, but I'm looking for some new opportunity). And I just love the world and would like to travel and visit every single country...but most people say it's quite expensive soooo... what a pity :(!!! But I've always been that kind of person who absolutely hates organized trips (touristic resorts and all those stuff)... my ideal trip is packing my bag and leave, by train, by bike, by car or even by foot! Uh, what else can I add? I don't like fashion at all...I love to think I've got my own style...even if people don't usually understand it ;)! I think human beings are the funniest inhabitants of the world...I always tend to see things in an optimistic way... I'm an idealist... I stlil think we can change the world and I believe in those stuff like peace, brotherhood and love... I think that the world and life in general are amazing, the best things one can do is trying to enjoy them. I believe we should help each other... I'd love to leave Italy and go somewhere in Africa just to help people... I'm left-wing and will always be, even though I'm always open for every kind of discussion about really everything. I've grown up reading books about buddhism and about people like Ghandi, Che Guevara and many others (most of the people who made a difference in the world are still unknown unfortunately)... I think music is one of the best way to communicate, 'cause notes and sounds are the same everywhere and they can reach every culture and heart... you can find music everywhere. that's the same for art in general... maybe you don't know the language, but you could always try to draw and people would probably understand what you're talking about... I love to think I'm not italian but european, as well as a citizen of the whole world... I don't believe politicians any more... I suppose people should take the lead and try to improve the situation of the world, which is degrading dangerously... I don't actually believe in God either...even if I've found out that religion can be a good thing since it still gives you hope and faith may be the only way to survive reality. I try to respect every breathing (and non breathing) thing in this world. I still think that nature's somehow incredible and terrific and I love to think I'm a part of it. I love to talk (and often talk too much) but I believe listening is far better... everybody's able to talk nowadays, but how many people can stop and listen?? I love to think as well, 'cause that's one of the most amazing things men can do...
but probably I've written too much now ;)!
