About me
Kyle Simunovic was born in Timmins, Ontario - Canada’s mining capital, the birthplace of Shania Twain and Stompin’ Tom Connors. The City with the heart of Gold as it’s commonly referred to.
Since a young age Kyle enjoyed getting involved in his community. Whether it was with the local food bank, volunteer at the Santa Clause Parade or for the local Child and Family Services organization, Kyle has attempted to give of himself in service to others.
Kyle's real passion is politics and governance - the heart of finding solutions to community problems. Politics to Kyle is the ultimate way of serving ones peers and actively affecting change in service to all of mankind.
In High School, Kyle enjoyed devoting much of his time to his community through his role as Student Trustee for the Northeastern Catholic District School Board. In this capacity Kyle had the great pleasure of giving youth a voice at the table where decisions were being made about their education and future.
Kyle was proud to serve as Chair of the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council in Timmins as well as the youth representative on the boards of several community organizations.
Upon graduation, Kyle’s efforts were recognized when he was named a Provincial Award Laureate for the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation. In addition, he was also awarded the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario’s Community Volunteerism Award, the Timmins Lions Club Volunteerism Award and the Principal’s Award for Student Leadership and Contribution.
Now, with his transplant to Ottawa, Ontario, Kyle looks forward to finding new ways to contribute while studying Political Science and Communications at the University of Ottawa.
