About Me

I have been a teacher now for 8 years, begining teaching in a school purely focused toward engaging and helping young people who were unable to adjust or achieve a year 10 certificate in a mainstream school setting (due to behaviour or circumstance).This school was Alesco Learning Centre in Newcastle NSW. After this I moved to the Northern Territory,to take up a position at a remote school in Alicurung, The school there was filled with challenges but with the challenges came equal and more, rewards building and enabling indigenious young people was a great experience. The year after that I moved to Tennant Creek and have been here ever sense. Teaching Visual Arts I have enabled some excellent outcomes seeing a varity of students complete my year 12 course and have their art work presented at Exit Art in Darwin and also go on to have their artworks displayed in the Chief Ministers Office. I am currently the Senior Teacher of Art and design at the Barkly College Secondary (Tennant Creek) and enjoying the challenge of mentoring and leading teams and peers toward positive outcomes for our young people who so desparately need a clear and purposeful future.
