About Me

Namaste!
I am Shiva, 20, is currently studying Bachelor in Public Health final year in Institute of medicine (IOM), Nepal.Since my childhood, i always dreamed of becoming health worker and advocating for health rights of people. My interest, passion and perception of SRHR youth issues always motivates me to help youth to do better.

Being multilingual in Nepali,Hindi,English, Spanish and French, i have worked with different people from multiethnic and multicultural environment.I have traveled more than 20 districts of Nepal. As a public Health student, I have genuine interest in sexual and reproductive Health and right.

My passion for Public health, human rights led me to serve as the vice president of Nepal public Health student’s society (NPHSS) in 2010 which provide an unique opportunity to organize and actively participate in workshops,seminars in pertinent sexual and reproductive health issue.I had participated in the seminar on Youth roles and responses to issues of HIV/AIDS by physicians for social responsibility Nepal (PSRN) in 2009, National conference in Democracy, peace and social harmony organized by Youth action Nepal in 2010, and National youth conference organized by Association of Youth Organization (AYON) in 2010.I have successfully completed 19 e-courses and achieved the Exemplary level form USAID’s Global Health e-learning center.

I have faith in youth and their capability for social change. I am currently working as a youth activist in youth activist leadership council(YALC;advocating for better and youth friendly health services,meaningful participation of youth in decision making and their access to comprehensive sexuality education.

I want to see youth educated, empowered and healthy. For achieving these i want to work for youths, with the youth. I believe in advocacy “Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed”.
