I joined TIG to learn more about the world. I love hearing what other people have to say, though I'm an opinionated little snot so I tend to disagree with whatever it is. It's interesting though, and I love discussing things on the boards with people from around the world. Being a kiwi, down at the bottom of the Pacific, we only know what the media tells us, and it's a long way to travel anywhere besides Australia, so I think it’s important that I hear what the people in other countries have to say, not just One News’ foreign correspondent.
I'm still at school, but I eventually want to find a career that involves traveling and meeting interesting people and learning about the world. At the moment, I want to be a documentarian/film maker, foreign correspondent for the BBC or a writer for a magazine like National Geographic, but as with all childhood dreams this is subject to sudden and unpredictable change. I sing, dance, play the piano and guitar and write (terrible) poetry and songs. I love language, because it is so powerful and communication is the one thing holding the world together at the moment.
I am a Christian, of the troubled and confused variety. That is a big part of my life at the moment, because having found Jesus I'm now trying to pick His brain, and find the real message behind Christianity. It's an ongoing struggle.
The world is a big, beautiful but dangerous place and I am a spoiled and uninformed yet opinionated fifteen year old (who needs to be taken down a peg) looking at it from a worm's eye view and wondering "What is out there for me?"
For now, I'm quite content in my kiwi backyard, singing, writing poems and dancing in the rain.
