À propos de moi |
I have recently been approved as Shippensburg High School's Technology Integrator. I also am the high school's physics teacher and Science Olympiad Coach.
Over the past few years I have played a major role in assisting our faculty in learning new software and integrating new technology into the classroom as it has become available to the district.
I work well in either a Windows or Mac environment. I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to make a piece of software do what we need it to do, rather than alter what we teach to fit what the software can handle. I am fairly good at explaining the difficult technical side of things to the non-technically minded.
As, far as coaching skills go.. I have coached soccer, swimming and diving, and science olympiad.. although I'm not sure if that's what they really meant by coaching skills : )
I enjoy doing projects with my physics students and the most popular one involves water ballons and me as a target. The students have to design a water balloon launching device that will launch a balloon over a barrier and hit me on the other side. It is a good project for the end of the year to review projectiles and allows students to tke their physics struggles out on the teacher. :)
I look forward to meeting everyone in the conference. I will be late in arriving because I will be spending the Thanksgiving break at the University of Wales.
