MISSION STATEMENT In the Course of human socio-cultural and eco-political endeavors, it becomes necessary for our people to resolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the authority of God and a decent respect to the opinions of mankind, which requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation and unity of growth and development. --We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, which among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness; --That to secure these rights, Governments and Unions are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, under a constitution that should be supreme and the choice of office, responsive; --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness of its’ constituency; We, therefore, the Representatives of Obafemi Awolowo University, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the conscience of the concerned student of this institution for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of our understanding of Leadership and Followership, solemnly publish and declare, to ensure the preamble of progress as productive constituents of this community, without fear or favour to ensuring local and global service to humanity…for humanity needs humanity.
