About Me

Retired Rehabilitation Engineer for the State of Iowa. I live in an Apt. that I share with my 21 yo son. I'm technical by nature and read all the Technical News I can, I also spend about 2 hours a day reading the general news online. I have a small workshop in my Apt. that I do all kinds of things in, just whatever hits my fancy and there is alot that hits my fancy. I do salvage some electronics and rehab them for resale or personal use, I also have alot of salvaged electronic parts which I sell, quite a variety.

I used to build special configuration computers for the disabled so they could work and go to school, I would also have to teach them how to use the software for their application so I learned alot of information about different software.

After retireing I built computers for about 2 years then I opened a bicycle shop which I ran for about 4 years and enjoyed very much, but getting good help was hard and I finally decided to sell it.

I spent 14 years in the US Navy on aircraft carriers and was in Viet Nam for three tours. I've been around the world three time on the oceans on different aircraft carriers and been in more countries and cities than you can count, I just loved the Far East and the food and excitement, especially HONG KONG and KOWLOON across the bay. I also did 2 tours in the Meditranian Ocean and pulled into all of the Meditranian hotspot cities, now that was a sensory overload. Additionally I was stationed in Naples Italy for 4 years as a Naval Airport Assistant Fire Chief, I had 26 Naval personl working for me and 37 Italian Nationals, so I had to learn some Italian language just to supervise them or they would just shrug their shoulders and say " no capish, and that was it unless you had an English - Italian dictionary but I picked up the necessities eventually and the job went well. After the Navy I went to college for Engineering and got the job with the State of Iowa. Now I'm just retired and live in my apartment without a mate and spend alot of time on the Internet browsing sights of interest depending on just what hits my fancy that day and alot of time reading News web sites from all over the world. I'm not really looking for a female mate, Ive been single for 8 years but I'm not totally against the right person, I guess. Just enjoying all the memories I have of the exciting life that I've had and looking for a way to put it in written form.
