 About Me |
My name is Sara Hassan and I joined the TakingITGlobal team in June 2011. I'm currently work as an Education Program Officer, coordinating environmental education programs (deforestaction.org), supporting teachers to learn more about the importance of student voice (www.tigurl.org/ecourses), and facilitating the Sprout e-Course (www.sproutecourse.org) for aspiring social innovators around the world.
A little about me:
My family is from Pakistan but immigrated to Canada in the early 1980s. I have a BA from York University in International Development Studies and an MA from McMaster University in Globalization Studies with a focus on Global Citizenship and Global Education. I have a bit of a travel bug; I lived in Switzerland during my last few years of high school and have spent two years working on education-related community development projects in Guyana (youth development), Honduras (HIV/AIDS Education) and Tanzania (Early Childhood Development).
