À propos de moi

Sanyi Emmanuel Sanyi is a young Cameroonian aged 25 who has been working in the field of youth development since 1995. In 2002 he created the Local Youth Corner Cameroon, an International Youth NGO working with young people to adopt positive responses to the many challenges they face in Cameroon.

Since 2002, he has volunteered in the aforementioned youth organisation where he serves as National Coordinator. His achievements with the aforementioned organisation are quite many among which is the running of a peer-to-peer programme for youths and students to fight against social ills such as HIV/AIDS, unemployment, poverty, conflict among others. Sanyi has also been involved in national processes on; community self reliant development, conflict resolution and youth participation, the creation of a network of youth associations for the fight against HIV/AIDS, project writing and youth NGO management, the promotion of human rights, the non-violent resolution of conflicts and the culture of peace, not leaving out processes on lobbying and advocacy.

Sanyi has also been involved in International trainings and processes on youth development such as participating at the Commonwealth Youth Forum 4 in Abuja-Nigeria in 2003, during which he served in the outcome drafting committee, the International Students Conference on Aids and the UNMDGs in Lusaka-Zambia where he is Country Delegate. He is member of the Global Youth Coalition for the fight against Aids and promoter of the International Students Conference on AIDS and the UNMDGs (ISCaids), Cameroon branch.

In June 2005 he was selected by the Ministry of Youth Affairs Cameroon to represent the Cameroonian Youth at the Regional Youth Caucus for Africa of the Commonwealth Youth Programme for the period 2005-2008.

He is currently undergoing a high profile leadership training programme known as the “Pan-African Interaction Leadership Programme” offered by the British Council in partnership with two leading UK based organisations namely “Questions Of Difference” (QoD), and “Leadership for Environment and Development” (LEAD International Inc.). This programme brings together Leaders from across Africa and the UK in a positive thinking spirit, to explore the greatness of Africa and the UK and also look for new ideas to be used by both peoples to bring about positive change and meaningful development.

He is single and holder of a professional diploma in Electronic/Computer System Management.
