THE STUDENT. As a civil engineering student at the University of the Philippines, I consider myself as a sponge trying to absorb anything within its immediate grasp. I simply love to learn and I know that in every situation, there arises an opportunity to find out something new. THE FUTURE CIVIL ENGINEER. I will be graduating in a year and as a trainee in one of the largest construction companies here, I found out that the industry I am going to enter is still a "man's world". I simply cannot stand that I have been pre-judged according to my gender and am thought of as someone who is weak. I now see this as a challenge for me to become more innovative and efficient in my profession so I can prove that gender is not a hindrance towards achieving one's full potential. THE HUMANITARIAN. I am an advocate of sustainable development as well as the construction of sustainable and appropriate technologies. I want to use my knowledge and experiences to help bring simple solutions to impoverished communities all over the world. I am also passionate about human and animal rights and I believe that justice is not served in right amounts today. I believe that as educated people, we have the capacity to initiate the changes that we want to see in our societies. THE FILIPINA. I am very proud of my heritage! We Filipinos have a rich culture and a remarkable history which is why we value our independence dearly. I want to serve my country and to help improve the lives of my fellow citizens. THE DREAMER. I dream a lot. . Someone once told me that being a dreamer is dangerous because the dream stops when you wake up. I totally disagree. It will only stop if you let it. We have control over our lives and if we take the necessary steps towards achieving what we want, then I dont think there's a chance that we can fail. :: Enough with the serious side. The everyday me loves to read, listen to music, watch good movies, swim and cant get enough of a good laugh! Life is short, as they say that's why I try to start my day with a smile. I believe that even if one is lonely, smiling can to some extent appease that person's loneliness. What are you waiting for? Let out those pearly whites. Even if some will think of you as crazy. Ha ha ha :: :: I am very interested in meeting people who share my ideologies and passion to "save the world". =)
