Currently i am the Nigerian Leader Forming the Student Leaders Against Malaria Network (SLAM), throough End Malaria Blue Ribbon Campaign supported by Malaria Foundation International (MFI) Atlanta GA U.S.A. Providing technical assistance to all Nigerian schools and organisations that join the End Malaria Blue Ribbon Campaign (EM-BR campaign), to become Student Leaders Against Malaria (SLAM) witth the following responsibilities. 1.Identification of schools to join EM-BR Campaign in the country 2.Organising workshops / presentation session to students on Malaria basic, symptoms and prevention 3.Involving Nigerian student to participate in online conversation with other students from U.S, India, Niger, Botswana, Rwanda, & Malawi through Blog in MFI website 4.Distribution of Blue Ribbon Pins to students during the workshop as a symbol of unity among the growing number of individuals and organisations working to fight Malaria 5.Reaching Community through Environmental Sanitation exercise, and Malaria Rally Campaign 6.Distribution of Free Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) to all participants schools and communities who join the EM BR global campaign 7.Providing free ITNs to all the CBOs who write a proposed idea on how to distribute the ITNs to the most vulnerable children in their respective community I am currently working with World Health Organization (WHO) Kano state regional office in Polio Eradication Program, with the following responsbilities:- Providing technical and other assistance to local Governments and wards supervisor during implementation, planning, training, monitoring and evaluation of Street Mobilisers (SM), during the Immunization Plus Days (IPDs) 1.Advocacy Visit to Local Governments NPI Managers for proper planning & implementation before the exercise 2.dentification of youth to serve as street mobilisers (SM) through Community Based organisations (CBOs) 3.Training of youth to serve as street mobilisers 4.Supervision of street moblisers during the IPDs exercise 5.Data Processing and Analysis after the exercise in collaboration with Street Immunization state coordinator Finally, i am working currently with Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) an affiliated to University of Maryland Baltimore U.S.A in their project activities for HIV/AIDS patients, under the President Bush Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) ACTION HIV/AIDS Project in 2006 as a project staff with various responsibilities in monitoring and evaluation unit (M&E) by collecting, processing, and analyzing data to measure the improvement in HIV/AIDS quality care for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in tertiary institution. I have 5 years working experience working with SYAHD NGO in various Nigerian communities. Currently SYAHD is working on Home Based Care, orphans and Vulnerable children (OVCs), and Malaria Educational Cmapaigns.
