 About Me |
Hey!
My name is Ryan and I'm a young idealist living in Toronto.
Everyday I try to learn something new about my surroundings. Film, international development, HIV/AIDS and youth are great interests of mine.
When I was fifteen I travelled to Kenya and Zambia to make a documentary film about an a capella group. The trip and the film changed my life, and I have been engaged in social activism ever since. When I arrived home, I founded United Youth Initiative, a youth-focused organization that empowers and inspires with direct-action projects.
In this big world, I'm doing whatever I can. It's smaller than you think.
I'm taking a year off before high school to travel and work. Currently I am working full time at a drop-in center, as well as working on building United Youth Initiative.
Hopefully we'll get to know each other!
