During the end of 2003 the Ivorian immerged into armed struggle, and since I was a refugee under the UNHCR’s auspices, I was transported into the Ivorian capital-- Abidjan. There the UNHCR nurtured me and had a convention with the US to help refugees migrate into their country. After three months of my stay in Abidjan, the US accepted the United Nations’ plead for refugees to be resettled in the United States. On December 02, 2003 I arrived on JFK in New York City, New York. After a day there, I was transported to Dallas Texas, then late that day I arrived at Hobby Airport in Houston Texas as my final destination. My caseworker, Aaron arrived there and picked me up. That night I settled in to my apartment in Glender Park; after the extended air run-arounds everything came to cessation finally in my own hollow—a place I could appease my soul. A week after my arrival, I enrolled into the computer tutorial classes, which was also at Glender Park. The classes give me a preliminary hold on technology. Here, in Houston I realized that my old dream of technology can still be manifested if time is invested therein. Patiently, after the government granted my documents I was more confident to work determinedly toward my education. In that time frame, Aaron, my caseworker alerted me that school should not be my first priority, because I needed place to stay, and secondly I have to nurture myself. Concentrating on the decisions I have to make, my goal once again started growing shadowy; I left the school and become a laborer constantly. Lastly, I started working for a company named GSE. In this company, all crew on board was made as a traveler, that is, we travel from state to state, and so was work. After spending several months with the company I felt sufficient of my struggle for money. In March of 2004 I left the company and settled in Richmond, Virginia. As I settled in Virginia, my school was the primary purpose of my living, but to enable me fetches the pace I needed a job that is consistent and flexible in scheduling. Hopefully, I applied at Tyson Food inc. where I was accepted and assigned to work at night, on a schedule that was tentative enough to fit my need, but when I applied to the college, I was told to live in Virginia at least a year or two. In that regressive mood, I ran out of patience, and decided to work as an unskillful person continually. In the month of September, I fell in love with a young invigorating girl named Florence. With Florence I felt overwhelm that my decision for education should be brought to light and in continuance. After our stay together for two years, then I felt at ease her, confidently I went on campus in the month of Mach I applied at ECPI technical college were I was accepted. And currently I am studying Computer Electronics Engineering Technology (CEET). Today, Florence and I have rallied two beautiful children named Frida Clay Tarley and Roland Y. Tarley Jr.
