In 2000, he became assistant coordinator of Students Partnership Worldwide (SPW), an international youth focused development organization in Nepal. During his three-year term with SPW, Rajendra continued his involvement in many youth activities and networks, such as: the Youth Workshop, with which he worked as Regional Coordinator for Asia; The International Youth Parliament, as a facilitator; coordinator of the Asian Youth Assembly (held in Manali, India in June 2001); taskforce member of the YouthActionNet, a project of International Youth Foundation among others. Since 2001, he is also serving as country coordinator for the Youth Employment Summit (YES) Country Network in Nepal. In 2002, he was elected on the Board of Directors for the International Young Professionals Foundation, currently he is serving as Vice President. He was also selected as one of the facilitators for the 2nd International Youth Parliament in 2004. In early 2005 he was invited to attend the World Bank Youth Forum in Sarajevo. His experiences inspired him to start a youth-led and run organization, Youth Initiative in 2001. Youth Initiative aims to inform, empower and involve youth to become involved in their own personal development and the development of their communities. Youth Initiative in Nepal has been working as a strong youth organisation committed to promote youth work and advocate for youth issues. Youth Initiative is currently working closely with government and other youth organisations to advocate for youth consultation in the process of making the national youth policy in Nepal. His tremendous efforts resulted in the networking among youth organisations and the formation of Association of Youth Organisations Nepal (AYON) where he currently serves as the President. He has attended several international conferences and events. He represented Nepal in the 4th UNESCO Youth Forum (2005) held in Paris, France and presented a paper during CIDA's international cooperation days in Ottawa (2006). He is a facilitator and a trainer. He has directly worked with more than 2500 young people through training, workshops, conferences and other speeches in Nepal and abroad. He likes to work with young people sharing his experience and learning more from them everyday. He likes traveling, bird watching, surfing the internet and making friends. He believes in Mahatma Gandhi's "You should be the change you want to see".
