My grandfather was the main inspiration for this. He recently suffered from a brain aneurysm, and right now is in a coma. His aneurysm ruptured on December 19th of 2005, and he's still in Kindred Hospital in downtown St. Pete. He's completely there [he's beginning to come out of the coma] and we can't wait for him to come back. Actually, on December 23rd, 2006, he passed away. My grandmother had signed a DNR, and he had some issue [I'm still not sure exactly what happened] and they didn't help him. That just makes him all the more special to me. I miss him terribly, but I still want to do as much as I can to help other people who have his issue before it gets to his stage. The other inspiration for this was my father. He suffered from a heart attack, congestive heart failure, and a stroke [all within 3 days] in December of 2004, and he's survived triple-bypass surgery [which took place on his birthday in February of 2005. Yay holidays.]. Today, he's doing fine, but he still has trouble with his left side, especially his left hand. Both men are the stars of my life, and I love them more than they know [or I've ever told them...]. They deserve to be acknowledged, and they are the reason that I am who I am. They are my inspiration to keep going [and to stay healthy].They are the reason for my foundation, which will be started shortly [once I have enough support and have brought the idea to my mom for final approval]. It will be called the Above the Neck Foundation, A.K.A. ATNF. Check it out, once it's up! If you want to know anything about me, check out my AIM screenname, or email me. Much love to all: Stephie |
