I am currently at the University of Zambia studying for my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology. At the University, I spearhead and coordinate 'Men n' Gender', a gender unit of the University of Zambia HIV and AIDS Response Programme. I also volunteered, for one year in 2007 as a Peer Educator under ZAMANAWE, a collaborative peer education programme in universities of four countries, Zambia, Malawi, Namibia and South Africa’s Western Cape. Under ZAMANAWE, I represented the University of Zambia students in Namibia on a gender workshop in 2007 and in South Africa for the SORNAD conference under NORAD. I am a trained facilitator of solution based workshops focusing on best practices surrounding gender and HIV as well as awareness raising campaigns within and outside my University. On December 1st, 2008 i received the 'Robert Serpell Award' for the Most Outstanding student in the fight against HIV at the University Of Zambia. I served as Zambia’s National Focal Point Person (NFP) for Global Youth Coalition (GYCA)2008-2009. I have been awarded the Special Youth Programme Fellowship with UNAIDS in Geneva and Zambia for 5 and 4 months respectively, from June, 2009 to February, 2010.
