 About Me |
I have been working in the AIDS response since 2003. To date, I have worked with different local and international NGOs such as Students Partnership Worldwide (SPW) where I volunteered for 8 months to work as a volunteer Peer Educator in 2004 in rural schools. In 2005, I also worked with out-of-school youths in rural communities in Kabwe with Community Youth Mobilisation (CYM) Zambia. In order to give back to my urban community, where I live, I volunteered under the department of Psychology at the University of Zambia on a joint programme with the San Jose State University in California to work in Lusaka’s two urban poor communities, N’gombe and Chainda in 2006 and 2007 respectively. Here, I worked at community schools dealing with orphans and vulnerable children, standing as a role model to give them hope for a positive future.
On December 1st, 2008 i received the 'Robert Serpell Award' for the Most Outstanding student in the AIDS response at the University Of Zambia.
I served as Zambia’s National Focal Point Person (NFP) for Global Youth Coalition (GYCA)2008-2009.
I have been awarded the Special Youth Programme Fellowship with UNAIDS in Geneva and Zambia for 5 and 4 months respectively, from June, 2009 to February, 2010.
