I am a writer. Do not underestimate me. I have attended THIMUN (The Hague International Model United Nations) conferences in 2002, 2003 and 2004, representing Bulgaria, Oman, and Afghanistan, respectively. I have also attended the BRATMUN (Bratislava Model United Nations) conference in 2001, the IMUN (Iberian Model United Nations) conference in Lisbon, Portugal in 2003, and KAIMUN (Kaiserslautern Model United Nations) in 2004. I had the honor of joining the THIMUN press team, MUNITY as a Reporter in 2005. In short, I'm an MUN freak. I am all for youth rights and development of youth media. There is nothing worse than being talked down to as a teenager. Teenagers deserve as much respect as any other person, no matter what the age. A teenager's life experience is quite different from an adult's, especially in the 21st century. We too have an opinion to offer. Most teenagers don't have political agendas or are in it for the money. It must be written somewhere that a teenager has to be critical of the world around him/her, and in this case, it's quite useful. MUN would have never come into being without some person under 20 complaining about the state of the world. I also run the international young adult writing community Absynthe Muse at http://www.absynthemuse.com.
