 About Me |
I am currently working at a global alliance called Least Developed Country Watch (LDC Watch)which is an alliance of national, regional and international civil society organisations (CSOs), networks and movements based in the LDCs in partnership with civil society organisations from development partner countries.
My responsibility is to network and coordinate with CSOs and Government based in LDCs and liason with UN system working for the LDCs and developed partner goverments. We act as a coordinating group for LDC civil society to advocate, lobby, campaign and network for the realisation of the Brussels Programme of Action (BPoA) including other internationally agreed development goals (IADGs) such as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). We address issues such as poverty, hunger, climate change, social injustice and human rights in the LDCs. We, therefore, has been raising its voice and articulating our perspectives in a multi-stakeholder framework, engaging with the UN, LDC governments and their development partners, both, as partner and pressure group.
LDC Watch came out of the UN LDC III NGO Forum process held in 2001 in Brussels.
I am also a post graduate degree holder of Rural Development and Gender Studies from SAIT (South Asian Institute of Technology), Nepal. Poverty (both urban and rural), gender, food security, sustainable development, climate change, globalisation and youth has always been a part of my domain of interests. I have published articles and presented papers at the national, regional and global level related to meeting Millennium Development Goals.
