About me
My first trip abroad was in 1955 at the age of five years. My father was an Army enlisted man assigned to a company in Munich, Germany. While in Europe, I was lucky enough to take a twelve day trip with my father, mother, and two brothers and two sisters, by car, through France, Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Holland, Austria, and Brussels. We traveled with another family who had four children. The whole gang of us camped out each night, wherever we could find a bare spot of ground. We always attracted attention, mostly from the children of the nearby towns. We usually got a soccer game going, or we borrowed the kids bicycles and rode around, or picked strawberries, or just sat and visited. Although we could not speak each others' language, we learned early on that people are just people. For the past fifty-five years I have traveled the world, and I have developed close friendships with many, many people.
