 About Me |
The society we live in has grown far from the one in the late 60’s. Back then, main values were being rethought and remodelled to encourage solidarity, mutual aid and the need to overpass one’s ideas and opinions. Many movements were growing into aspiring to change the world’s vision of what life really is.
In comparison, the world we live in today has become oriented towards accumulation of goods, all more superficial ones from the others, a vision of individualism prone to competition and of course disabused ambitions. Everything is obtainable and quantity has overpassed quality in close to every aspect of life. If you take relationships, it has now become a real challenge for young people to find someone to share their life with. Values seem to make monogamy impossible. Trust is now out of the question due to a huge lack in loyalty, respect and even sense of self-preservation. Meaning that though there is an actual high increase in sexually transmitted diseases (STD), people do not protect themselves. On a professional view, young people seem to have lost the ambition or need to make a difference in our society which other generations before this one had. There is a vibe of discouragement, like nothing can be done or even has a purpose to be done, like improvement is impossible.
Sadly, it seems like our society is built on ideas that are said but never done and made up of people who say but don’t believe. It seems like our government has no clue of what it’s doing and citizens don’t even care enough to dare, dare to change and to react. Maybe when there is really nothing left to arrange and mask, change will be asked.
