Outspirits was formed in 1998 by a group of gay and lesbian Catholics who are (or who have been) involved in the Catholic Church through various ministries and vocations.
The members of outspirits see themselves as people of hope on a spiritual journey, who share a common bond in being lesbian or gay, or supportive of lesbians and gays, and Catholic.
Outspirits is still emerging and growing. The group's identity and shape is still being formed by the Spirit at work in its members. Outspirits is open to anyone who is interested in gay/lesbian issues and Christian spirituality.
