I have attended several international schools, which have shaped me in different ways to the person I am today. The Red Cross Nordic United World College was a unique environment of young people representing 70 different countries. My two years with them gave me the gift of friends from all across the world. A personal reference point to many countries that I would otherwise not relate to. I went to Macalester College in the United States - a college that also emphasized the importance of internationalism. That environment enabled me to politicize my sense of international understanding with analyses of injustice and oppression. Racism, sexism and homophobia became inseperable and necessarily international. I have worked with the Swedish Red Cross Youth trying to implement my ideals on a daily basis in dialog with others and other views. I stand by the principles of the Red Cross and hope that the humanity within all people will prevail and guide us toward a more peaceful, juste and humane world. I currently am working as coordinator for a Swedish youth project giving young people the tools to create activity and engagement in their every day lives through social software.
