As a retired chemical engineer, I wondered why Lake Superior remained contaminated with PCBs, for decades after they were banned . Following 5 years of global travel and volunteer work in environmental agencies, I wrote a book about the global pollution from PCBs and persistent pesticides. It was published as Cold, Clear, and Deadly by MSU Press. I now promote awareness and the necessity to ban these chemicals.
