 About Me |
Always active in social movements, Nico Koenig early focus was the power of sport and recreation as a means to community development. Graduating from the University of Western Ontario with Bachelors in Kinesiology, he was invited by the Commonwealth Games of Canada to support community youth sport in rural South Africa. He spent the next two years hired by South African based non-profit to coordinate local and international volunteers and community sport programs in Zambia. Returning home to Halifax, he became involved with earth education which became a precursor to researching Carrotmob during his Masters in Adult Education and Community Development at OISE. Lately he can be found on biking on Bloor, trying to integrate Carrotmob and the cycling movement here in Toronto.
