 About Me |
I am Nina Brakovic, girl form Bosnia and Herzegovina, beautiful country in the middle of Europe. Despite the fact that life was not so gentle to me; I survived the war and lost both of my parents before my 18th birthday and I was completely alone in the post-war period I consider myself, ten years after that crucial moment, as a lucky person.
I am 27 and I have almost ten years of work experience as I had to work since my high school. As I always had writing skills and won some awards in my childhood I decided, after high school, to complete Political Science-major journalism and communication. After graduation I financed London School of Public Relation myself in order to gain more knowledge in that field which is extremely necessary in BiH but almost unexplored.
In the same time I got a distance learning certificate in Human Rights and through courses in Sarajevo I was improving my German language knowledge and started to learn Spanish.
I was working in the government, public and non government sector in the fields of, administration, logistic and in the recent years in information, politics, and human and child rights. Beside ordinary working duties I was working with students-interns in the National Democratic Institute for International Relations on high education reform process. I participated in the Working group for Parliamentary Oversight in Defence Reform Commission. I was writing for Youth magazine and preparing the promotion materials for different organisations. I was active in demining organisation BH MAC, working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and recently I am working for Save the Children Norway, South East Regional Office.
Each of the things that I achieved in my life I achieved with hard work and study and it is the best process of learning how to use, on the most useful way, everything you gain. Each effort gives results.
My huge but unfulfilled wish is to get a scholarship for Master degree in the field of Public Policy. It would be the best way to summarize and direct all my experience and knowledge in my efforts to help people of my country.
My war experience educated me that knowledge is the only thing that nobody can take away from you and it is the only thing which you can use always and everywhere.
