About Me |
I have had the honour and pleasure of living in several different countries including Japan, Canada, Australia and South Africa. I believe that young people around the world can work together to bring about positive change.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and a Master's degree in Media Studies from Concordia Universiy. After completing my Master's degree, I was offered a position working in the non-profit sector in Pretoria, South Africa.
While living in South Africa from 2005-2006, I saw first hand how soaring crime rates, poverty and the HIV/AIDS pandemic can negatively affect a society. I also saw how good public policy, proactive citizens and a little hope and dedication can positively affect that same society.
After my return to Canada, I worked as an Associate Producer on a documentary film about racism and stereotypes in Aboriginal communities in Canada and am currently working in the media/non-profit sector in Toronto. In my spare time, I am a Managing Editor for Capital Magazine. www.capitalmag.ca.
I became a TakingITGlobal member in May of 2006 and am currently a Volunteer Editor for Panorama Magazine.
