Kusumawati Supadi, or better known as "Natalie", is a critically-acclaimed actress both on stage and in front of the camera. With a voice of an angel, she has touched the hearts of many and proved to be not just another "success story". She has recieved numerous awards for being an outstanding individual and recieved countless of marvellous lovely reviews by the media both locally and internationally. Under the direction of the critically acclaimed Mr Michael Corbidge for the 6th year in the running, she is really recieving first class training in the arts both classic and modern pieces. She has a genuine passion for the arts and dreams of making it big both locally and internationally. Her driven passion for the arts had given her the opportunity to pass on her knowledge to adults, teenagers and children all around the globe as an educator teaching the fundamentals or drama, dance, and vocals.
She first started out her theatre antics in 2002 in Singapore with Ping Yi Secondary School, where she studied for 4 years, portraying the role of "Nick Bottom" in an asian adaptation of William Shakesphere's A Midsummer Nights Dream. She gave an outstanding dramatisation with her famous comedic moments and funny lines. She also played the lead role of "Fiffi Trixabelle La'Amour in a collaborated production of iHappychild's and Ping Yi Secondary School 's "The Phantom Cat" where she recieved rave reviews and numerous standing ovations. The First Lady of Singapore, Mrs S R Nathan, was present at both of her previous productions and Natalie was given the honor of meeting the First Lady herself in person which the First Lady herself then gave Natalie her personal congratulatory greetings and handshakes. In her recent production of William Shakesphere's "Macbeth" (2005), where she played the role as one of "Banquo's Murderers", she stood out from her fellow castmates. With her heartrendering portrayal, thus it was the play's coup de theatre, or, big scene, and took the role clear beyond the reach of most budding actors and actresses. She is definately a name to watch. All of her the scenes that she appeared in was a memorable one indeed. By turns leery-eyed and loopy, she stayed resolutely in character through-out, even as her castmates froze into indifference.
A production to look out again in 2005 starring Natalie is the musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen" written and directed by Tracie Pang, in which she will be playing the role of "Russell Crow", the son of "Pa Crow", to be played by Mr Michael Corbidge and "Ma Crow", played by Alamay Fernandez. "The Snow Queen" will be due out in late November till early December at the Esplanade Theatre.
As a role model for many youths out there in Singapore, Natalie is truely an investment that proved to be worthwhile.
Natalie is also a pround member of the Actors Association of Singapore(ASA).
