Nasir has a M.A. in English Literature from Jahangirnagar University in Savar. Previously he was a Program Coordinator in Education for the local NGO Grameen Shekkha (shekkha means Education in Bangla). When asking Nasir what he thought about his work with RI-SOL he thought for a moment and replied, “My work is more creative than what I did before in terms of technology and in terms of teaching. Working for RI-SOL gives me a source of satisfaction and confidence in building my abilities. Working with different people in the office, including foreigners makes me enthusiastic and gives me a new way of looking at my job” In addition to his education responsibilities, he is interested in technology, and therefore he became a natural choice to work on the http://www.connect-bangladesh.org website to upload pictures and keep text current. He is the person at RI-SOL responsible for our website translated in to Bangla every month, and he also personally translates all global lessons and makes sure that the On-Site Educators and Lead teachers understand them. Recently, he has helped RI-SOL contribute to Project Guttenberg. The project aims to put books and other literature that are free of copyright restrictions, into electronic format on the Internet for all to use. Before the Country Director Jack Welch and Nasir got interested in the project there was no Bangla Literature contributed to the website, and now, as a result of their work two pieces of Bangla literature are available for the first time in digital format on the Internet in their entirety.
