Hakkımda

My name is Muge Cevik, I am from beautiful country – Turkey. When I started university as a normal medical student in 2002, I found that we- medical students- can do much more than to study. And I met with TurkMSIC - National Member Organization of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA)- and then with Y-Peer and I realized the “youth power” for change and importance of “youth involvement”. With the help of Y-Peer I found the importance of HIV issues among young people and started to work on.

As an active medical student in the filed of health promotion and risk prevention in the field of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS, as Regional Assistant for Europe and Central Asia to the Standing Committee on Reproductive Health including AIDS taking into consideration the fact that I am in charge of a HIV/AIDS burdened region with a special focus on the eastern part of the continent, where issues regarding sexual and reproductive health and rights are a cross cutting problem for the whole society and its future.

After all, with 7th ToT I changed all the things that I have done as peer educator since 2004 to the representative of my country as Y-Peer Focal Point and representative of Y-Peer all around the world… Being a member of this big family – Y-Peer – I experienced a lot of educations, projects, I worked on policies and advocacy and my career formed as well, now want to be a public health specialist.

It’s important to feel it inside even if you fight, struggle, loose or win but at the end to fell the success and change in your life and in others’ …
