About Me |
I am an international development researcher with a focus on war-affected children, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, HIV/AIDS and poverty alleviation and building sustainable livelihoods.
I am the executive director of an organization called Never Again International that deals with human rights issues relating to genocide.
I have also done research investigating the concept of sustainable livelihoods in Africa. I was introduced to the concept through a man by the name of Naresh Singh, who co-authored the text Sustainable Livelihoods: Building on the Wealth of the Poor. This aspect of development is a bit more holistic in its approach than traditional development initiatives, focusing on local capacity building on the assets of the poor. As the concept of Sustainable Livelihoods is a relatively new one to many development practitioners and policy makers, I would like to take action to make the general public, government, and academia more familiar with the concept.
My current vita includes working on sustainable development research with the Western Newfoundland Model Forest, as well as organizing forums on development, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution.
