 About Me |
For the past ten years Marvin George has been actively involved in community theatre. He has worked initially with his own community group ( the Mt. D’or Cultural Performers) as actor, director, playwright and producer, particularly for the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition, which is an annual community theatre festival in Trinidad and Tobago. Marvin is the Administrative Director of Arts-in-Action, which is the Caribbean's premier Applied Creative Arts Company. The holder of a BA (1st Class Hons) in Theatre Arts from the University of the West Indies, Marvin is at present reading for an MPhil in Cultural Studies: the focus of his research is the applications of the Carnival Arts - specifically traditional mas - in popular education.
