 About Me |
Øyvind Kildal Stangnes just finished his second year majoring in business marketing at BI Norwegian School of Management. He also works as a freelance graphic designer specializing in Web design and development. An avid Internet user since 1994, he enjoys developing business ideas and aims to contribute to the success of a broad portfolio of companies during his career.
Øyvind started creating Web sites as a hobby in 1995 and, two years later, launched a free online counter service that had as many as 15,000 active users during its peak. After spending a year as an exchange student in Pennsylvania, Øyvind did graphic design and Web design work for a Norwegian advertising agency from 1998 to 2000.
He went on to work with an Internet Startup called Ostudents Network, an extensive website featuring a lot of free services and communities for students.
As an executive committee member of Ambition, a chapter of Junior Chamber International Norway, Øyvind coaches young entrepreneurs and helps them develop their leadership skills. He also assisted with a national project called Leader2010, held last October, in which about 40 of Norway’s top leaders gathered for a day to discuss topics related to leadership in the year 2010. He is even more involved in organizing this year’s Leader2010 project as well as helping groups in eight other countries stage similar events.
Øyvind was recently selected as one of 15 young students from all over the world to form Microsofts Information Worker Board of the Future.
