I am dedicating my life to see that my vision of changing the community, especially the one that i live in is achieved. This has given me the drive to involve myself in community projects that will help other people. In this projects, i use the expertise that i have to help. I am a student at the University of Nairobi doing architecture. I have had the urge to do this course since i was young and the urge was inspired by majestic works of art done by world famous architects and designers. My life started on January 1, 1985 in a rural township called Mwatate at the Coast province of Kenya. Was raised and educated there before qualifying to join the University of Nairobi 19 years later. The events that spiced up my young and teenage life are too many to fit in the limited space offered by Takingitglobal. So, watch out for my biography coming soon. I am a catholic by religion but i do respect all other religions of the world. I do think independently and my religion has very little influence, if any, in my perceptions. I was introduced to Takingitglobal by a friend called Esther Mutuma who is also a member. I joined this community in my bid to meet people and join hands to tackle issues that affect us in our day to day lives. Taking It Global has given me a wonderful platform through which i get to share my ideas with youth from all regions, races and religions of the world. This has not only broadened my world view but has also enabled me make friends from all walks of life, thus enhancing my social life positively. Through TIG, i have also been able to discuss issues that do affect us in our daily lives through the discussion boards. I have also had access to information on opprtunities that may interest me and have been given a chance to do what i like most, drawing and writing, work which has been displayed on TIG's Global Gallery and the Panorama magazine. If there are any works that i have admired most are those of a Taoist Philosopher, Lao Tzu. Tzu has in one of his works inspired me through his piece, 30 Spokes Share 1 Hub, that its the nothingness in something that helps us make use of that thing. People, in their nature, would like to utilize the thing and ignore the nothing. Yet they are ignorant of the fact that its the nothing they are using to achieve their goals. The Piece goes; Adapt the nothing therein to the purpose at hand, and you will have the use of the cart. Knead clay in order to make a vessel. Adapt the nothing therein to the purpose at hand, and you will have the use of the vessel. Cut out doors and windows in order to make a room. Adapt the nothing therein to the purpose at hand, and you will have the use of the room. Yet what we gain is something, it is by virtue of the nothing that this can be put to use.
