since '98. Until recently he was Regional Director for Africa and Middle East of the Digital Opportunity Trust, a Canadian international NGO with a mission to connect people with technology; providing the tools and building the capacity to promote locally driven social and economic development. As regional director, Marc established new programs in Africa and provided support to existing ones in the Middle East. Previously, Marc has spent 7 years with UNDP in the area of ICT for development. His last UNDP position was deputy regional coordinator for ICTDAR, the UNDP programme on ICT for Development in the Arab region. Prior to this position, he was project advisor for UNDP Afghanistan for all ICT related activities: training centres, technical assistance, and policy development. Since he started to work in the field of ICT for Development, Marc has worked in more than twenty countries, to develop information and communications project for sustainable development. Among others projects, Marc installed the first Internet Service Provider in Bhutan and East Timor and assist regional organisations like ECO and ASEAN to develop Information strategies. Marc’s work has been featured on CNN, BBC, the Wall Street Journal and other global and local publications.
