About Me

I attended the Pacific Youth Millenium Development Goals Sumiit in Apia, Samoa in May 05 and again saw the importance of youth banding together to make a difference in the world.

I have worked in several fields since finishing university. I have experience as a Government Auditor, Legal Rights Trainer, Accounts Officer, and currently am Policy Advisor and Office Manager (CEO is just the title) to one of our national Cabinet Ministers. The Minister besides being the Minister of Foreign Affairs, is also the Minister for Youth, and we both share a passion for helping young people realise their potential. This is especially important in the context of the Cook Islands where we are facing a dwindling population and large emigration, especially of young people to New Zealand and Australia.

I am an active member of three NGOs, the Cook Islands Party Youth, the Rotaract Club of Rarotonga, and the Miss Cook Islands Pageant Association, all of which aim to develop young people both professionally and personally, and offers an opportunity for young people to give back to the community through politics and charity. I am also an inactive member of several other NGOs including sports clubs, youth clubs, church organisations and now Taking It Global.

I am passionate about youth being a part of everything, taking their responsibilities in society, and voicing their opinions!

I do hope to meet through Taking IT Global and through YSF to make friendships and contacts, that will add to the resources I can access to do my bit to making this world of ours a better place to live for everyone!
