I'm a Brazilian guy living and working in UK.
I'm married and I've got two little girls. I grew up in a disfuctional family, my mum is single and worked hard to bring my sister and myself up. When growing up, me and my sister spent most of time on our own. We were what we call children at risk. I saw lots of friends of mine getting in trouble with drugs and crimes. Me and my sister were lucky enough to have people around us to prevent that we wouldn't involve ourselves on the same pattern. I had the opportunite to work with street children in Brazil for 4 years and help a friend of mine to set up a preventatitve unite in our community. The project works with children between 5 to 16 years old and attend approximate 100 young people. We give judo lessons for a minimum cost or most of the time for free and also support lessons for those that have some kind of disadvantage at school.
At the moment, I'm working in the UK with young people and families. I'm really enjoying my job and I'm learning a lot. I really want to help on building young people up and see stronger families.
