Raised in the quaint town of Grimsby ON, nestled in the heart of Niagara wine country, throughout his life Josh has tried his hand at many creative forms of self-expression; drawing and painting, sculpture and photography. It wasn’t until high school Josh discovered his true passion, a combination of art forms, film! Moving images with sound, flowing from one idea to the next, evoking true emotion and telling a meaningful story.
After graduating high school in 2000, Josh attended Sheridan College in Oakville, ON for an introductory “Art Fundamentals” program. With basic 2d and 3d design skills and a better understanding of colour, light and form, he enrolled for three year “Media Arts” program at Sheridan. Over those 3 years, Josh kept his film focus; Directing and Cinematography. For his film “Climbing up the walls” (2002) he received the Sheridan College People’s Choice Award.
After working one year in the fast paced Toronto Film industry on music videos and commercials, Josh decided he would rather challenge himself more creatively. In the summer of 2004 Majest media was born, incorporating his experience as a filmmaker, to help foster Niagara Film Communities and continue to challenge himself and many others to grow to our limitless potential!
