 About Me |
Through my research for End Poverty Now and my internship at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, I heard firsthand stories of poverty and learned some of the overwhelming statistics. I also heard about various initiatives organizations are taking to address the immediate needs of those in poverty and create sustainable, income-generating initiatives that can break the poverty cycle.
I'm dedicated to the alleviation of poverty through education and raising awareness. To achieve this goal, I've helped EPN's School Outreach Committee organize conferences for older students, created classroom resources for EPN, and encouraged educators to integrate discussions of poverty into their lessons.
In addition to my work with EPN, I've helped plan workshops and awareness initiatives as a member of the McGill chapter of Education Beyond Boarders, created lesson plans for AIDS Community Care Montreal, and am currently creating classroom resources for Hermenia Publishing.
