 About Me |
My interests are varied (playing the piano, learning about social problems, training, reading, spending time with friends, studying a new language etc...), but I guess my main focus in life lies in seeking out truth and working towards changing the world around me. Evolving in a synergistic fashion alongside those changes is part of the deal, as I believe it takes self-improvement to induce community-improvement. I also view decentralized networks where youth and the disenfranchised majority play key roles as the way to a more inclusive and successful society.
On a more academic note, I'm interested in the social construction process that shapes our individual and collective perceptions, and as well, how these affect decision-making and inform policy design. Media influences, social representation of crime and criminal justice issues, and moral panics, are all particular favorites.
