I was born in 1987, in Mendoza, in the centre of Argentina. I am nineteen and I study Political Science and Public Administration. I like reading and writing...good cinema, and sharing long conversations...I also love travelling and meeting people. Since I was very young I have been interested in social problems. I don’t now when I started caring about these issues, but I believe that the fact of participating in the U.N Model for about 3 years really changed my mind in many ways. I realized there was a huge world around me and that it was full of injustices and long-lasting problems that need definitive solutions. Since then, I can describe myself as a passionate participator. Mainly because I am strongly convinced the best way of solving any social problem is by getting involved. We can not just sit in the hence waiting for magical solutions or criticizing without proposing alternatives. Participation is the best tool civil society owns, but many people still do not realize these... During these last few years I have participated in several activities, especially related with youth asociation programmes, and youth networks , and I have met many adolescents who devode an important part of their lifes to helping others, working hard for the improvement of their local communities and of the world. That's my inspiration source, and one of my strongest believes: YOUNG PEOPLE CAN REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE...it's only about opening our eyes and our minds and realizing that! ------------------- Hola! Soy Leila,y nací en 1987 en Mendoza, Argentina. Actualmente tengo 19 años y soy estudiante de Ciencias Políticas y Administración Pública. Me encanta leer y además escribo (ficción, artículos de opinión,en fin, de todo un poco..) También me gusta muucho el cine, compartir largas conversaciones con gente interesante...et j'adore voyager!! jajajaj! asi es..amo viajar y conocer gente! (quién no?!). Desde muy chica siempre me interesé por las problemáticas sociales. No sé muy bien desde cuando es que empecé a involucrarme con estos temas, pero creo que el hecho de participar de los modelos de Naciones Unidas en los últimos años de mi secundario, me abrió un poco la cabeza en estas cuestiones. Me dí cuenta de que somos parte de un mundo que va mucho más allá de nosotros. Un mundo poblado de injusticias y problemas de larga data que necesitan soluciones definitivas. Desde entonces me gusta describirme como una participante apasionada o participaholic (aclaración:el copyright d este término lo tiene el participaholic máximo Damián Profeta!jaj!) Principalemente porque considero que la mejor forma de solucionar cualquier problemática social es tomando parte, involucrándose, comprometiéndose con esa realidad.La PARTICIPACIÓN es la mejor herramienta que posee la Sociedad Civil, pero muchas personas aún no se dan cuenta de esto. No podemos quedarnos sentados esperando soluciones mágicas o criticando sin proponer nuevas alternativas. Durante los últimos años he participado en muchas actividades , especialmente relacionadas con el asociacionismo juvenil , y la participación de la juventud en diversos ámbitos, locales , virtuales y globales . En estos espacios tuve la suerte de conocer a muchos jóvenes que dedican una parte importante de sus vidas a ayudar a los otros y al mejoramiento de sus comunidades y del mundo. Esa es mi fuente de inspiración y una de mis grandes convicciones: LOS JÓVENES PODEMOS MARCAR UNA DIFERENCIA. Sólo se trata de abrir nuestros ojos y nuestra mente y darnos cuenta de eso.
