About me
Right now I am studying in political science, with a focus in international politics, human rights, and media. From August 2006 to February 2007, I went on a Canada World Youth exchange to Sudbury, ON, and Kijabe, Kenya. Prior to that, I was working at a fair trade retail store and a street level drop-in centre for at-risk youth. I was producer and host of a news special on my university radio station called SPEAKradio, focussing on human rights abuses worldwide.
I love to travel and experience new cultures. I'm a vegetarian, I love to cook veggie meals for my omnivoric friends, and I love to take photographs. I think music is the connective heartbeat of the world, and I couldn't live without it. I especially love punk rock, folk, and indie music.
I am very interested in independent media and freedom of expression, especially exposing the denial of this freedom. I hope to pursue a career in journalism after graduation.
I like to longboard, dance around my bedroom, and have intense conversations. I am looking for more heroes: people to inspire me with the way the bring sunshine and warmth to the world, just by being a part of it.
