About me
Zaid Shopeju is a graduate of Political Science from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago – Iwoye, Ogun State. Immediately after undergraduate studies, he joined Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI) as an Insurance Agent before leaving the company in January of 2009 after an 8-month spell. He worked briefly as a Marketing Executive with Rockpath Prints; a branding, printing and outdoor advert company.

In response to his passion for youth development he founded Youth Vision Alliance Network (YVAN); a youth-led organisation with special focuses on empowering youth with sustainable leadership and entrepreneurial skills in July 2009.

He has trained and spoken at different fora such as: the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany in June 2010, World Cancer Day 2011 Seminar organised for the Military Communities by YVAN at the Air force Base in Lagos.

He represented Nigeria at the e-GLO 2 [Earth Charter Global Learning Opportunity] sessions (a semester-long, online leadership course inspired by the Earth Charter) and was a member cohort 9 of the LEAP Africa Microsoft Employability Programme.

Zaid has facilitated and made presentations on breast & cervical cancer, youth leadership, employability and self-management.
