 About Me |
Hello! My name is Lakshmi Satyanarayana. I was born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Celina, Ohio. My parents immigrated to America in the 1970s from India, so I consider myself a First-Generation American. I am currently a second year student in the Kent State University/Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine Accelerated Medical Program. I was raised as a Hindu, and I am a strong believer in my faith, although I am open- minded about different religions and cultures. I enjoy the outdoors- water sports, tennis, even just spending time outside. I love all sorts of music, ranging from Western artists such as Coldplay and Jay-z, to Lata Mangeshgar and Mohd Rafi. I have played the violin for 11 years and the piano for 8. I am very in tune with my Indian culture, and I think I have effectively merged the Eastern and Western cultures to create a happy medium. After I have completed medical school, I hope to enter a residency aimed toward Pediatric Cardiology, or work towards my Master's in Public Health. I one day hope to be an activist for Doctor's rights.
