 About Me |
I'm an educator, golfer, musician, composer, cook, poet, webmaster. I do these to varying degrees of skill but enjoy them all. I think life is to be enjoyed so I have fun at my job and at play as well.
Henry David Thoreau put it best when he said: I wish to suggest that a man may be very industrious, and yet not spend his time well. There is no more fatal blunderer than he who consumes the greater part of his life getting his living.
The part of my life spent getting my living is teaching philosophy online. An unusual combination really, philosophy and the internet. It's still an open question whether the technologies we now have serve to facilitate or hinder communication. I enjoy debating this with my colleagues and while I am on the side of technology being a facilitator I am also struck by the irony that while it has never been easier to reach out and communicate with new and interesting people, many still seem reluctant to engage in dialogue.
I am also very interested in researching and practicing a healthy lifestyle through the use of diet (the Okinawa program), exercise, and meditation.
