Hi! Some information about me....
I'm currently studying transformative learning at the California Institute for Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco. In this program I'm studying the dynamics of human and organizational change by exploring how transformative learning—a deep, embodied learning that produces a shift in consciousness—occurs within individual groups, communities, and global systems. I'm learning to think from a systems perspective, to facilitate intercultural understanding, and to build spiritual awareness as an individual and as a group member.
Aligned with my studies, I act as the local and regional facilitator for Pioneers of Change, a global learning community of young people committed to learning and social change. In this role I serve as a local point of contact, coordinator between the local chapter and the global network, and a facilitator prompting activity and conversation in the local network.
With an interest in community-building and collaboration, I've acted in a variety of positions in both the public and private sectors. Currently, I work as a facilitator for Collaboration Architects, which builds and implements collaborative online solutions. Prior to this position, I worked for Dialogos, a consulting firm that uses dialogue to help people act more powerfully individually and collectively. In the non-profit sector, I managed a grant-making program as Program Officer for the Global Fund for Children in Washington, DC, an organization that takes an entrepreneurial approach to advancing the human rights of children and youth worldwide.
Much of my work was inspired as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Eritrea, Africa where I taught English, consulted on curriculum development for the Ministry of Education, and acted as Regional Coordinator for the First Annual Girls’ Conference on Gender Awareness and Education.
Besides work, I love cooking, traveling, and being active. I'm currently training for the NYC Marathon in November. :)
