About Me |
I am , Hausa by tribe, Muslim by religion and Nigerian by nationality. Obtained a Certificate in Journalism with Upper Credits (1999), Certificate in Scriptwriting (2004) and a Master Class Certificate in Scriptwriting (2005). I am a scriptwriter, Film Director, Computer Graphist, a journalist currently heading a news magazine, serving in the capacity of an Editor/Special Correspondent and a Production Assistant. The magazine in which am serving as its editor recorded a wider readership from Nigeria expanding to the Niger Republic up to the United States of America. Member, WSIS Youth Caucus, Youth Employment Summit (YES) Mexico, Network of journalists international, and Scriptwriter Forum Nigeria. Some few weeks back, after I’ve gone through a two-week Intensive Training and two-week Master Class course in Scriptwriting under the aegis of British Council/ScriptNet UK’s Connecting Futures Reel Dialogues Project, agreements were reached as to the creation of Scriptwriters Forum, whose sole aim will be acting as a nexus for the 40 professionally trained scriptwriters, thereby managing their talents and creativity and channeling them in the most useful and appropriate direction. The outcome of this consensus is the creation of Scriptwriters Forum Nigeria, sponsored and supported by British Council Nigeria. Fate had it that after an election was conducted I was to my utter surprise named the Chairman of the Forum, having garner 74.7 percent of the votes. I assumed office immediately and am now managing the affairs of the forum actively. Soon after I was sworn in as the chairman SWF, I was again called for a meeting with the prospective members of the proposed Guild of Scriptwriters of the Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) which is among the 4 highest ranking film industry regulatory associations duly recognized by the Federal Government of Nigeria. There, I was unanimously nominated as the caretaker Chairman of the Guild and asked to work out modalities that’ll usher in the full take-off of the Scriptwriters Guild. It is worth saying here that the guild has to its credit about 10, 000 prospective members who submitted their forms, and I believe you can imagine the impact I’ll make as a youth heading an almost 60 percent elders-dominated guild.
