About Me

First of all, my name is Kevy Nathalie Alcindor Rangel, from Caracas, Venezuela. I have recently obtained an Economics' Bachelor's Degree, in the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, in Caracas.

Concerning my work experience, I had the opportunity to work in the UNHCR Regional Office Programm Unit in Caracas, for six months. That is where I started to get more involved with development and gender issues, and started doing a research about it on my own. I also did an internship in the same agency in colombia. My last experience in the UNHCR was as a consultant in the Regional office programm unit. I am currently working as an economist in the research department in Vector, a broker in Mexico.

In addition to that, I attended to a course in my University which was named "Civic and Political Formation", which had the basic purpose of making us aware of the socio-political situation in our countries and finding solutions to these obstacles. I also belong to AIESEC Venezuela, an international youth NGO which has recently started to develop 5 global learning networks. One of these is based on HIV/AIDS issues and is what I am currently working in my country: we are developing the structure and plans for our country. I recently approved a HIV/AIDS course in order to leaarn more about this issue and basic facts in Venezuela. Unfortunately this issue is as taboo here, especially among young people, that is why I feel there is so much work to do and I feel that I can do a lot, as a young leader in my community.

That is one of the multiple reasons why I want to belong to this group.
